REGION 5

Wow, Region 5!  Our show season started off strong with an amazing show at Fox Valley Saddle Association in Illinois.  We welcomed several new competitors, along with long-time participants.  This was an extra special weekend because we started with a two-day clinic geared towards those who are new to the sport.  The clinic kicked off with a fantastic community-building session with participants, trainers, and volunteers sharing and getting to know one another.  We talked about the idea that working equitation focuses on being nice to one another and being nice to our horses.  We strategize together and help one another.  This focus led to many special moments throughout the clinic and the weekend, including mane braiding lessons, EOH strategy tips, emergency Walmart runs, and so many more.  Over and over again, participants commented on how impressed they were with the clinic itself along with our amazing, friendly, and supportive community.  Those who started the weekend as strangers quickly became part of this wonderful Region 5 WE family!  Huge thank you to our organizers, trainers, volunteers, and our fabulous participants!
