REGION
By: Kiki Pantaze — Region 4 Director
I am excited to say that Region 4 is experiencing growth and here is some news from our active states.
Oklahoma
Seth and Michelle Marshal have been hosting WE clinics in Oklahoma and generating momentum for WE. They have been traveling to neighboring states, Texas and Kansas to compete at established venues.
New Mexico
Working Equitation is blooming in NM! Interest is growing around the state and Zia Working Equitation Club is working hard to bring quality education and events to NM. In a partnership with Arizona Working Equitation Club, ZWEC schooling shows can earn AZWEC members qualifying scores for the AZWEC Finals this Fall.
Upcoming events:
– ZWEC and Enchanted Horse Dressage will host Tessa Nicolet for a clinic and schooling show June 22-23.
– ZWEC will work with the NM State Fair Horse Show to bring Lidia Taylor(r) to New Mexico for a clinic and schooling show during the State Fair. Working Equitation will debut at the NM State Fair with prizes and prize money available for competitors.
– Amy Star will return to NM for a two day clinic in the Fall
If you love working equitation and live in New Mexico, JOIN US! Whether you join as a member or volunteer, every little bit counts in helping ZWEC bring working equitation experiences to New Mexico!

Texas
Since my last report, Texas has had 2 clinics, a schooling show and a Licensed show. The Licensed show that was hosted by Highlander Ranch, outside of Waco, had the most entries (31) in a Region 4 show, since the forming of USAWE. The two day event, officiated by Amy Star had a nice mix of seasoned competitors and riders new to WE. The two day format, provided riders a relaxed atmosphere to compete and to have time to mingle and socialize. We hope the growth trend continues into the fall.
Fall events:
September 28/29 – IXL Ranch clinic and Play Day – Judge, Doreen Atkinson
October – Sandhaven Fall Clinic and Licensed Show – Judge, Doreen Atkinson
November 2/3 – Highlander Ranch Licensed Show –
December – Weatherford Licensed Show – TBD
