Happy December and Happy Holidays, Region 5! This is often the time many of us are thinking about our “winter homework” as we prepare for the 2025 competition season. Whether you are new to the sport and thinking about competing for the first time, moving up to a new level, or trying to achieve a lifetime medal during the next season, it may help to reach out the wonderful resources we have across our region. Please consider reaching out to one of our Affiliate Organizations or Professional Instructors. Please let me know if you need help determining the best resource in your area!
Show management teams are currently working to get shows scheduled for the 2025 season. We are tentatively anticipating at least 11 show weekends (two shows each weekend) throughout the season with our Region 5 Championship scheduled for October 3-6, 2025 at Fox Valley Saddle Association which is centrally located in Northern Illinois. There will be many volunteer opportunities at each of these shows – please feel free to reach out to me directly if you are interested in volunteering and I can connect you with show organizers!

To kick off the 2025 season, there will three clinic opportunities and a Working Equitation Challenge schooling show with Senior Judge, Doreen Atkinson, at the Midwest Horse Fair in Madison, Wisconsin (April 11-13, 2025). If you are interested in getting more information about these opportunities, please reach out to AO leader and event organizer, Adrienne Dymesich.
