REGION 3
By: Chris Stanko — Region 3 Director
Greetings from Region 3
Region 3 members, it is time for me to leave my position. I’d like to encourage all of you to get more involved in USAWE. Have a voice in what is going on. There is 1 year left in my term so if someone wants to step up and get your feet wet for 1 year please let me know or the USAWE board. It involves managing the region 3 FB page, board meetings once a month, sometimes email votes and or emails to answer to. Being there for your members in the region is really important. You need to answer questions, give advice or just be a listening ear. Just be there.
Winter time in Colorado is a peaceful time. Thank goodness for indoor arenas. Wyoming and the Dakotas also get quieter in the winter. Kansas doesn’t have quite the winters its northern region states have but still winter. Winter is a time to reflect on your training system/regimen and make the changes you need to do. Don’t force your horses to do anything. Always ask and allow them to do for you. If it’s not what you want, be more clear and ask slowly. Go over your basics even on your upper level horses. Don’t rush your training. It will come back to haunt you.
I look forward to 2025. I’m hoping to be all healed up to ride, help my husband in his tough time and be able to compete again. Life throws us some crazy curves but we can get through them. Look forward and keep going. Sometimes that hill gets really steep and hard to climb. Don’t give up! It’s okay to slow down and even take a break but keep looking forward.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!
