Working Equitation of North Carolina was formed in 2023 to provide greater support and opportunities to USAWE members within the Tar Heel state. This club is for everyone, from newbies to the very knowledgeable and experienced. While centrally located near Charlotte, WENC nurtures the growing sport of WE throughout all of NC and encourages additional regional clubs within the state to be formed in the future. The WENC founders began successfully organizing clinics and schooling shows in 2022 to build interest and momentum. In June 2023, we hosted the state’s first USAWE licensed competitions, two spectacular one-day shows at Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC).
Membership has rapidly grown with participation in a wide range of activities including obstacle PlayDays, multi-day intensive “camps”, ridden and audited clinics, youth training and showing, schooling shows, licensed shows, and teams competing in the Eastern Zone championship show. Membership meetings are held regularly via ZOOM and frequently include an educational component. Check out our FB page to learn about our scheduled events.
