Professional Development Committee
USAWE Professional Instructors (PI) have been busy this summer teaching clinics, competing, judging, and attending Working Equitation events from coast to coast. The Train to Win #2 clinic held in Thousand Oaks, California July 8-10 was attended by PI’s who took advantage of the educational opportunities with Senior WAWE judge Jose Benito of Spain. Working Equitation was presented at BreyerFest July 12-14, held at the Kentucky Horse Park, with PI Jody Fontanetta as one of the demonstration riders. Other PI’s from the region attended to help at the booth and talk to the public about the sport.
The second quarter Pro Dev Zoom meeting held the end of June was well attended by PI’s. “S” judge Rebecca Algar joined as the educational guest speaker on the importance of the purpose of the levels.
Visit the USAWE Professional Development Committee web page for the list of PI’s and information on how to apply to be a PI The USAWE Professional Instructors Program is designed to develop quality Working Equitation instructors. The program requires skill in horsemanship, instruction, safety, and Working Equitation-specific education and experience. The PI program ensures that recognized USAWE Professional Instructors have the necessary skill, knowledge, and integrity to guide riders as they advance through the levels of the sport and discipline of Working Equitation.
USAWE Professional Instructors have access to their fellow instructors via networking meetings, a USAWE website listing, and continuing education opportunities available only to USAWE Professional Instructors.
