As some may have already heard, there have been some recent changes for the International Committee (IC). In mid-August three members of the IC left the committee and the Board of Directors appointed Barbara Price as Interim Chair. Incumbent IC members are Tracey Erway and Christy Reich.

We’re disappointed to report the third Train to Win Clinic scheduled for early September had to be postponed due to unforeseen international travel issues. The IC is working on a rescheduled clinic for the Eastern regions, and will make an announcement once the details are in place. Preference will first be given to the riders in the Eastern regions who had been confirmed for the cancelled clinic. 

As the committee looks to 2025 activities, an analysis of the IC’s past activities will be completed and sent to the Board of Directors with recommendations. Once the board has reviewed this and gives their thumbs up, the IC will proceed full-speed with planning and 2025 activities. 

The IC and its mission to work with upper-level riders and prepare for selecting a USAWE National Team is important both to the organization, and the recognition of U.S. Working Equitation as an international level sport. We are eager to move the program forward as we look toward sending a National Team to compete at the 2026 Working Equitation World Championship in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. Exciting times ahead!!
