President’s Letter

By: Chris Stanko

Hello, I would like to introduce myself. Some of you know me, most of you do not. My name is Chris Stanko. I am a Colorado girl, born and raised, who began riding before the age of five. My working equitation experience started over a dozen years ago. I am passionate about the sport of WE, participating as an avid competitor, show manager, trainer, coach, Region 3 director, TD, head of an AO in Colorado — High Country Working Equitation – and now your newly appointed USAWE president for the next 10 months. I’m honored to have been elected by the board on January 25th to fill the interim position (per the association’s by-laws). As president, rather than wanting to control USAWE, I’m counting on all of us to work cooperatively to help our community grow and thrive. To accomplish this, communication, productive sharing of ideas and respecting one another’s viewpoints are all necessary for success.

I look forward to working as a team to nourish this organization together. The beginning performance levels (L1-3), are the brick and mortar of USAWE. We need to keep them going strong. We also need to start showcasing our upper-level riders. This will inspire our lower-level riders as well as encourage new participants to become active in the sport. Thank you for joining me in the project of making USAWE a strong, vibrant organization.
