REGION 7
By: Pat Melton — Region 7 Director
Hello, Region 7!
There is a lot of WE excitement in Region 7, as things are becoming more serious in anticipation of the 2024 show season. Three Bulls Farm (Bulls Gap, TN) hosted a full multi-day clinic (March 15-17), with instruction by Doreen Atkinson and Pati Pierucci. Three Bulls also introduced their newly built bank and water obstacles to everyone’s excitement. There are two clinic/schooling show events scheduled in North Carolina, Tryon and Morganton, in the month of April. These competitions and a number of local Play Days, Clinics, and Ride-A-Test opportunities all provide you with the ability to fine tune your abilities before the licensed show season begins.
The Three Bulls Classic (license #24-014) is scheduled for May 17-19 and will include all trials, including an optional cattle trial. Entries are open, so don’t delay submitting your registration. Working Equitation of North Carolina is hosting their licensed show at FENCE in Tryon, NC (license #24-041) the weekend of June 8-9. Entries for this show open March 1st. Additional schooling and licensed shows are being planned in the region which is an affirmation of how the sport is growing in the Southeastern US. As requested before, please be certain to let me know about anything happening in your neighborhood so that we can add it to the Region 7 Facebook group page (email address: R7Director@usawe.org).
All gatherings, from formal licensed shows to club play days, are all dependent upon participants and volunteers. If you don’t plan on riding, think about offering your time and expertise in a volunteer capacity. I’m certain the organizer will be very happy to hear from you. In addition, remember that USAWE could use committee volunteers for those interested and your Board of Directors asks that you invest your efforts in the sport we all love.
