REGION 4
By: Kiki Pantaze — Region 4 Director
Hi Folks –
Region 4 is continuing to have a group of very dedicated people who are spreading the word about Working Equitation and Region 4.
Zia Working Equitation in New Mexico hosted a three-day clinic, instructed by USAWE Professional Instructor, Tessa Nicholet the second weekend in March S Judge, Doreen Atkinson ran a clinic the same weekend in north Texas and most of the participants are very keen to start showing. I am so excited to meet these new to working equitation folks.
International Team hopeful, Pati Pierucci continues to travel monthly, to instruct a group in south/central Texas, and they are planning on showing in the first event of the Texas season. I am so excited to see all the new WE action in the Region.
Michelle and Seth Marshal are traveling to The Midwest Horse Fair, in Madison, WI, to their Working Equitation Challenge. I am sure we can hear all about the trip on Seth’s podcast.
The show season will start up in Texas, March 22-23 in Taylor, with the Sandhaven Spring Fling 1 and 2. It is Sandhaven’s first time to host two, one day shows and the entries are filling fast. The new format will be fun, hosted by Supper host, Kellee Campbell at the WillCo Expo Center.
Everyone needs to start looking at their qualifications for the Region 3-4 Championship, that will take place in November 7-9 in Fort Worth.
How to qualify for Regionals – Horse-rider combinations may compete in any or all regional championships, regardless of where qualifying scores are achieved. Horse-rider combinations must earn a combined average of 58% or higher in Dressage and EOH and successfully complete the Speed trial (L2-L7) at a minimum of two licensed shows to qualify for a regional championship.
Everyone will have of other opportunities to qualify for regionals at the Highlander Ranch shows May 17-18 and June 7-8.
I hope to see you all down the road.
Please feel free to reach out to me, if you have any questions.
