Committee Reports May 2024

Professional Development Committee

The ProDev Committee is pleased to announce the roll out of the redesigned program. Information on the application process is now updated at https://usawe.org/about/professional-instructors-program/.

The USAWE Professional Instructors (PI) Program is designed to develop quality Working Equitation instructors. The program requires skill in horsemanship, instruction, safety, and Working Equitation-specific education and experience.

USAWE Professional Instructors from Region 6
USAWE Professional Instructors from Region 6, Holly Linz, Rose Watt, Stephanie Hayes and Julie Lamberton enjoyed competing together at the WE East USAWE Licensed show in Herndon, VA  April 20-21, 2024.
The PI program ensures that recognized USAWE Professional Instructors have the necessary skill, knowledge, and integrity to guide riders as they advance through the levels of the sport and discipline of Working Equitation. Please Visit https://usawe.org/we-community/professional-instructors/ to find a PI in your region.

Currently there are 19 Professional Instructors in the Program with many more working on their requirements. The Program is developing quickly and we couldn’t be more excited to be welcoming more qualified instructors to join us. USAWE Professional Instructors have access to their fellow instructors via networking meetings, a USAWE website listing, and continuing education opportunities available only to USAWE Professional Instructors.

Please let us know if you have any questions. The committee is here to support you in your goals of becoming a Professional Instructor. prodev@usawe.org

Priority will be given to Western Zone riders; however, riders from outside Western Zone will be accepted if space allows. Riding spots are for riders currently competing at L5-L7 performance level.
