~ Working Equitation 2024 at the Sunrise Ranch ~
Friday personal performance coaching with Amy Star
Saturday full Working Equitation Show and Cattle Clinic
Sunday full Working Equitation Show and Cattle Clinic
We enthusiastically welcome you to another series of Working Equitation events here at The Sunrise Ranch in Mason, WI! Be sure to visit our website for our full calendar both of WE events and other equestrian opportunities.
Last year we enjoyed having WE judge Amy Star up here to officiate so much, that we have asked her to return, but also bring along her accomplished daughter, Summer Star.
Summer is a skilled equestrian and WE competitor (even representing the US in the international WE competitions in 2022) and she has agreed to offer private lessons at the SRR on Friday before the shows. This is your chance to have an advanced WE competitor observe your partnership with your horse and then ride your horse herself to give you detailed coaching on how to advance your performance.
Saturday and Sunday are each full licensed Working Equitation shows with cattle clinic option (for levels two through five). Participants may also register as “Schooling Show” entries to engage in the shows as non-USAWE members. This is an extraordinarily fun and challenging sport to develop your partnership with your horse in a practical inclusive performance-based discipline. Learn more about Working Equitation at:https://usawe.org/
As Sunday is Father’s Day, we will be honoring them in a ranch-style grill out and potluck following the show. Bring your whole family for weekend fun in Bayfield County and fellowship at the SRR!

Boarding for competitor’s horses at the SRR is open-air covered stalls in a sand footing and the competition arenas are brownstone grit over road fabric; optimal for performance riding. The SRR has miles of riding trails and they welcome LQ campers to stay on the grounds and utilize showers and amenities freely. Lodging is also available 10 minutes north in Ashland, WI.
Bayfield County is home of Madeline Island and the Apostle Islands, an extremely popular tourist destination in the Northland. The SRR welcomes you to make the most of your stay and board your horses on the ranch longer, in order to visit their region of Lake Superior.
The Sunrise Ranch is a family-run working ranch and full-service equine breeding facility. They raise sport-type Morgans and Spanish crosses bred specifically to be engaging partners in competition. Visit their website for more details on the SRR stud. www.TheSunriseRanch.com
