Ease of Handling (EOH)

The Ease of Handling (EOH) Trial evaluates your ability to navigate an obstacle course while maintaining the fundamental principles of dressage. Think of it as testing both precision and partnership between horse and rider as you move through each challenge; a technical completion of obstacles.

The most detailed guidance is found in Appendix B of the Rulebook and a helpful summary is included in the Getting Started Manual.

Appendix B includes:

  • Exact descriptions of each obstacle
  • Instructions on how to ride each obstacle
  • Required gaits for each obstacle, depending on competition level

By studying these resources, you’ll understand exactly what is expected and how to approach each obstacle with confidence and technical accuracy.
