Quick Guide to Awards Leaderboard Tabulation

Who Can Earn Points?
  • Current USAWE Individual Members riding a horse that’s recorded with USAWE.
  • Membership and horse recording must be in place before the show is finalized (one-week
    grace period allowed).
How Do You Earn Points?
  • Dressage + EOH: Average % converted to points.
  • Speed Trial: Points from placings per chart.
  • Cattle Trial (L2–L7, optional): Extra points if successfully completed (no penalty if
    not).
National vs. Regional
  • National Leaderboard: Points from any licensed show.
  • Regional Leaderboard: Points from shows in that specific region.
Minimums to Be Ranked
  • Scores from 2 different judges at 2 different licensed shows.
  • Dressage/EOH average ≥ 57.5%.
  • No DQ in Speed (L2+).
Standings
  • Only your best 4 shows count.
  • Unlimited shows allowed, but only top four scores/placings are used.
  • Ties are broken using total Dressage + EOH percentages.
Awards
  • National & Regional Awards: Based on Leaderboard points. Top 2 in each.
  • National High Point Breed Performance Awards: Horses accumulate all points earned
in the season for high-point recognition.
Lifetime Rider Medals

Separate from the Leaderboards, riders can work toward Lifetime Medals that recognize advancement across all levels of the sport.

  • No time limit for scores to accumulate.
  • Medals are based on rider achievement, not tied to one horse.
  • Scores must be free of disqualification.

Medal Levels:

  • Pewter (Intro): 4 scores ≥ 60% + 4 scores ≥ 65%. At least one must be under an R, S, or WAWE judge.
  • Bronze (Novice): Same as Pewter, plus 4 scores from L3/Novice B.
  • Silver (Intermediate): Same as Pewter, plus 4 scores from L5/Intermediate B.
  • Gold (Advanced): Same as Pewter, but all scores must be under R, S, or WAWE judges.
  • Platinum (Masters): Same as Gold, but at the Masters level.
