DESCRIPTION:This Working Equitation camp will be specific to each horse/rider’s needs so it is appropriate for all levels of riders or any level of experience in WE. With two instructors you will receive a ton of personal time. Be prepared to ride! \nInstructors: Karen is Judge and Technical Delegate for the sport. She holds multiple National and Regional Championships as a competitor over the years. Mike holds multiple National and Regional Championships as a competitor and has his Silver Medal from USAWE. \nWe’ll start off your three day Working Equitation intensive with the Dressage Phase where we will run through the appropriate tests and movements. We will provide riders exercises to help improve your skills. \nOn Saturday we will focus on the obstacles. We’ll have riders practice their skills on each obstacle and then ride a few short practice courses in the afternoon. \nOn Sunday you will put everything together for a fun schooling show to test out your new skills. No pressure here – you can get as much or as little coaching assistance as you want to get you through the phases. Karen and Mike will walk the Ease of Handling course with participants and provide strategy and guidedance.\nSpace is limited. Pre-registration is required. $450 includes a dry stall for the clinic. SUMMARY:IL: Horseless Introduction to Working Equitation
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun day to learn about the sport of Working Equitation. We will discuss all four phases of the sport including as the building blocks.\nThe primary focus of the day will be spent reviewing the requirements for the obstacle portions of the sport – the Ease of Handling trial and the speed trial. We will walk through each obstacle and discuss what the judges are looking for and training ideas to help you get started in the sport. After all obstacles are reviewed we will have participants do an actual course walk where we will discuss strategy and how it differs between Ease of Handling and Speed.\nWorking Equitation is for everyone – all rider levels\, all breeds\, and all disciplines. All you need is the desire to learn and a little commitment. And don’t let speed phase scare you away – only Levels 2 and above are required to do speed.\nClinic is taught by Karen and Mike of KarMik Acres. Karen is an accredited Judge and Technical delegate. Both Karen and Mike hold multiple Year End Championships in Levels 1-5.\nCost for the clinic is only $50.\nSpace is limited so pre-registration is required.
