DESCRIPTION:Working Equitation Clinic – March 13\, 2023 \nJoin us for a great learning opportunity at the Oregon Horse Center’s Prairie Arena on the Monday following our March WE show! \nWe’ll have two fabulous clinicians: USAWE Judge Erica Peet and her husband Howard Peet. Both of them are serious WE competitors and trainers\, and they recently returned from attending a Master Class taught by WE guru Pedro Torres! Erica will be our judge in March\, and Howard will be participating in the show\, so they should have plenty of insights from the competition to bring to the lessons. \nCost: $125 for people who participated in the show (includes an extension of your stabling from the weekend);  $150 for people who are coming just for the clinic (includes stabling on Monday); $25 Auditors \nEach rider will have the chance to participate in a 2-hour group lesson on the obstacles and a 20-minute private session on dressage fundamentals. For the veterinary inspection\, please bring your horse as well as its valid health certificate and Coggin’s paperwork. You will present the horse in hand for the vet to inspect\, and will then walk away from the judge for approximately 150 feet\, then walk back to the judge\, then trot away from the judge and back to the judge. The veterinarian reserves the right to take temperatures and might request that you lunge the horse on a circle to confirm soundness. \nAWARDS CEREMONY – in show clothes\, with horses for photos\, please. Regional Championships are a BIG DEAL! \nAWARDS\nChampionship – neck sashes for overall placings\, Champion – 6th place in each level and division. \nA-Rated Show – rosettes 1st – 5th for overall placings in each level and division. \nLevels Offered:\nIntroductory – Masters \nDivisions Offered:\nJunior\, Amateur\, Open \nTwo “Best Turned-Out Horse/Rider” awards will be selected by the two judges: one for English and the other for Western riders. The winner of the English award will receive a beautiful Dressage-style English Show Pad. The winner of the Western award will receive a beautiful Western Show Pad. \nAdditional physical prizes (embroidered items\, prize baskets\, hand-crafted pottery\, etc.) are currently being identified and will be added to this description by September 1. \nEntry Fees – CHAMPIONSHIP Classes: $500 – Includes your stall (available from Friday – Monday\, same cost) and entry fee\nEntry Fees – Non-Championship Classes: $300 – Includes stall (available from Friday – Monday\, same cost) and entry fee\nIf you are sharing a horse with another rider\, you can deduct $100 from one of the horse’s entry fees (because the stall doesn’t need to be paid twice)\nExtra Stall(s): Available for $100\n(Discount of $50 for those driving 500 or more miles one way to attend. Qualifying score must have been earned at the level being entered. DESCRIPTION:This weekend will include two\, back-to-back one day B-Rated Working Equitation competitions\, licensed by USA Working Equitation. \nPart of the 2021 Great Lakes Area High Point Series — show at all or some! \nSeries High Point Buckle to High Point Champion in each level\nIntro\nNovice A\nNovice B\nIntermediate A\nIntermediate B\nAdvanced\nMasters \nBuckles will have the winner’s name engraved on them: the ultimate in personal recognition! \nWe’ll be offering a weekend’s worth of friendly\, supportive Working Equitation competitions at the Fox Valley Saddle Association in Hampshire\, IL.July 4 -5\, 2021 \nOn each of the weekends\, we’ll be running two separately-licensed WE competitions\, allowing people to compete in one or both; whichever works best for their schedule.
