SUMMARY:BOD Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Agenda will be added closer to the date of the Board meeting. \nThe USAWE Board will be meeting on Monday\, April 12th via Zoom. \nThe meeting will begin at 5:00 Pacific\, 6:00 Mountain\, 7:00 Central\, 8:00 Eastern. \nThe agenda for the meeting is pasted below. \nAll USAWE Board meetings are open to current members of USAWE. \n\nTo receive the codes to enable you to log on\, please contact President Leslie Martien (President@usawe.org) at least 6 hours prior to the start of the meeting\, (President@usawe.org). Please note: these codes should not be shared with others. Each USAWE member who requests the codes with sufficient time for the President to send them will be sent the information they need to be able to log on to the Zoom call.\nMembers are welcome to attend and listen but may not provide input at board meetings. This allows the board to finish their agenda in the time allotted. If you have questions or concerns please contact a board member after the meeting.\nIf you have questions prior to the meeting please go to http://usawe.org/. At the bottom of the Home Page there is a place to get in touch – we will respond to you as soon as possible.\nIf you are not on the Board of Directors\, please refrain from using the Chat feature during board meetings. Chat conversations are very distracting and should be reserved for board member usage only.\nPrior to the start of the meeting\, all guests will be placed in a “waiting room” to enable the Board to get organized. One of the Directors will be serving as a moderator\, verifying the membership status of each person in the waiting room and ensuring that each person has their first and last name showing\, so that the minutes can accurately reflect all in attendance. It may not be possible to continue to process people who arrive late\, once the meeting has started\, so we encourage any members in attendance to log on at least 5 to 10 minutes prior to the posted start of the meeting and add their first and last names to their Zoom profile to help expedite the process.\n\nWe value you and your contribution. Thank you for attending our meetings and helping us run our meetings as smoothly and efficiently as possible. \nWarm Regards\, \nLeslie Martien \nPresident – USAWE \n  \nBoard Meeting Agenda \nMeeting Date:           Monday April 12\, 2021\, 5:00 p.m. Pacific\, 6:00 p.m. Mountain\, 7:00 p.m. Central\, 8:00 p.m. Eastern \nBefore the meeting download Zoom: \nPlease follow these steps below to download and install the Zoom application for Mac and PC. \n\nOpen this Zoomlink using your web browser: https://zoom.us/download\nChoose the “ZoomClient for Meetings” option.\n\nAt least 12 hours prior to the start of the meeting\, please contact President Leslie Martien (President@usawe.org) to request the log-in codes. Please note: these codes should not be shared with others. Each member who requests the codes with sufficient time for the President to send them will be sent the information they need to be able to log on to the Zoom call. \nMeeting Logistics \n\nThe meeting will be facilitated by Leslie Martien\nOnly Board members and guests whom the President requests to speak are permitted to speak or use the Chat window during the meeting\, to ensure that the Board is able to focus on agenda topics without interruption.\nPlease mute your line when it’s not your turn to speak.\nEvery Board member will have the opportunity to speak once on every motion up for discussion. The “chat” feature on Zoom is also a way for Board members to share thoughts with other Board members as you are listening to the discussion without interrupting the person speaking. Note: if you are in general agreement with a motion proposed it is 100% OK to simply write that in the chat window to help save time. If all Board members speak for one minute\, each motion will require twelve (12) minutes of discussion\, in addition to the time for making the motion and taking the vote.\nTo reduce confusion/interruptions\, each time there is a matter up for discussion\, we will have people participate in the following order:\n\nKristine Strasburger            Trisha Kiefer-Reed\nRobin Bond                         Doreen Atkinson\nCindy Branham                   Erin O’Shaughnessy\nKiki Pantaze                        Julie Alonzo\nAlex Tyson                          Barbara Miller-Price\nKim Hillyer                           Leslie Martien\nRebecca Algar \nVoting Order\nWhen we vote\, Leslie Martien will either call for a voice vote or a roll call vote. A voice vote will be used if there appears to be consensus on a particular item. A roll call vote will be used if any member of either Board requests it\, or if there does not appear to be consensus. \nIf a voice vote is called\, meeting secretary (Julie Alonzo) will record whether there were any ‘nay’ votes cast. If a roll call vote is called\, Julie will call on individual Board members by name and record the votes. She will call for votes in the following order: \n\n\n\nRegion 1 Kristine Strasburger\nAt-Large Director 1 Trisha Keifer-Reed\n\n\nRegion 2 Robin Bond\nAt-Large Director 2 Doreen Atkinson\n\n\nRegion 3 Cindy Branham\nTreasurer Erin O’Shaughnessy\n\n\nRegion 4 Kiki Pantaze\nSecretary Julie Alonzo\n\n\nRegion 5 Alex Tyson\nPresident Elect Barbara Miller-Price\n\n\nRegion 6 Kim Hillyer\nPresident Leslie Martien\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegion 7 Rebecca Algar\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n

SUMMARY:OR: March Show
DESCRIPTION:This will be a B-Rated Working Equitation competition\, licensed by USA Working Equitation. \nEntry Fee: $250 to participate. \n(IF we have few enough entries to make two shows possible\, those who have indicated a desire to participate in both shows on this online entry will be added to the 2nd show based on the time/date on which their online entry was submitted. If we end up having two shows\, it will cost an additional $100 to add the 2nd show). \nTack Stall: $100 \n(OHC Boarders who do not need stabling can request a $100 discount because they don’t need a stall) \nJust-for-fun Leadline modified Ease of Handling: $10 \nEntry fees include first bag of shavings\, and stabling from Friday\, 3 pm (honestly — NO EARLIER — if you arrive prior to 4 pm on Friday\, please plan to pay a ‘haul in fee’ to OHC and amuse yourself in the main facility rather than coming to the Prairie Arena). Additional bags of shavings can be purchased on site for $10/bag. \nPLEASE DO NOT BRING OUTSIDE SHAVINGS IN — we are charged an extra $35 per stall if any outside shavings are used. \nCamping is available on site — please make reservations directly with the Oregon Horse Center if you are planning to camp (we do not handle the camping spot reservations at all). \nJudge: Polly Limond\, S\, California \nIMPORTANT NOTE:\nDue to COVID-19\, if you feel at all unwell\, please stay home. Also\, masks will be required at all times when inside buildings (except when actually mounted on your horse) and whenever you are unable to maintain at least six feet distance from others. Outside stalls will be available for anyone who is unable to wear a mask for health reasons. \nREFUND POLICY\nFull refunds will be granted for anyone who sends a statement in writing to me requesting a refund and explaining that they are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test\, or that they have tested positive for the virus and have been advised to quarantine during the time the show will be held. No other refunds will be given (including for people who are unable to participate due to inclement weather\, vehicle trouble\, veterinary issues\, personal injury\, etc.). This policy is in place to help make it possible for me to continue to offer these events without risking my personal savings each time (I price the shows to break even\, so when people take a spot and then decide not to participate\, I end up needing to cover the cost associated with their entry myself; I can’t keep doing that). – Julie \nhttps://forms.gle/wgGU6dE4cNSpfX6JA

DESCRIPTION:Agenda will be added closer to the date of the Board meeting. \nThe USAWE Board will be meeting on Monday\, February 15th via Zoom. \nWarm Regards\, \nLeslie Martien \nPresident – USAWE \n  \nBoard Meeting Agenda \nMeeting Date:           Monday February 15\, 2021\, 5:00 p.m.
