Additional bags of shavings can be purchased on site for $10/bag. \nPLEASE DO NOT BRING OUTSIDE SHAVINGS IN — we are charged an extra $35 per stall if any outside shavings are used. \nCamping is available on site — please make reservations directly with the Oregon Horse Center if you are planning to camp (we do not handle the camping spot reservations at all). \nJudge: Miguel Undabarrena\, r\, Arizona \nIMPORTANT NOTE:\nDue to COVID-19\, if you feel at all unwell\, please stay home. DESCRIPTION:This will be a B-Rated Working Equitation competition\, licensed by USA Working Equitation at the beautiful WW facility in Milton-Freewater\, Oregon (just south of Walla Walla\, WA)\, the heart of eastern Oregon/Washington’s Wine Country. In addition\, we’ll be offering a full day intensive cattle clinic on Friday before the show. This is a great opportunity to learn more about working with cattle in a low-stress\, supportive environment. \nIf time allows\, we will hold two separately-licensed competitions this weekend (you can let us know if you’re interested in a spot in just one or both competitions). \nEntry Fee: $250 for one show; $350 to enter two (if time allows); $200 for the Cattle Clinic on Friday Stabling: $25/day (includes bedding and final cleaning when you leave). \nIf we end up adding the Cattle Trial to the competition\, as an optional trial\, that will be an additional charge (TBA). \nCamping is available on site for $40/night with electric; $25 dry camping. \nJudge: Kim Roe\, r\, WA \nIMPORTANT NOTE:\nDue to COVID-19\, temperatures will be taken each day. One of the people who first helped bring the sport to the United States\, she has had the pleasure of learning from some incredible WE professionals\, including three different WAWE International Judge Trainers. DESCRIPTION:Come and see what this exciting and fast growing sport is all about! \nWorking Equitation has 4 phases\n•Dressage\n•Ease of Handling\n•Speed\n•Cattle \nDay One:\nThis workshop will be geared mainly towards understanding the Ease of Handling phase\,(obstacles used to evaluate the horse and rider’s dressage skills)\, but all phases will be discussed. Riding portion of the clinic will focus on proper and safe introduction and execution of each obstacle. \nDay 2:\nWill start out focusing briefly on the Dressage phase and then a schooling show which will be videotaped and each ride re watched as a group with Emily’s comments as we watch. Copies of each ride will be sent to riders. Riders will also leave with written comments and score sheets from their schooling rounds. \nWorking Equitation is a great sport for ANY horse or rider. DESCRIPTION:Riders will be grouped based on experience with 2 hour small group lessons (no more than 4 riders per group). Private lessons may be arranged depending on the number of clinic participants ($75/hour).\nFor those with no prior WE experience this clinic will introduce you to three of the four phases\, Dressage\, Ease of Handling (EOH) and Speed\, (no cow sorting phase)\, with the focus on EOH\, basic rules\, description of obstacles\, course set up\, objective of each obstacle and how to ride each one. A short non-mounted session will take place prior to riding.\nRiders who have prior WE experience will be coached at the level they are working at and be taken through exercises appropriate for their level. Riders will be challenged with course navigation and rules questions\, and learn about competition strategies.\nCost:\n$125 per rider/horse. Auditors- $15\nNEWE members may audit at no charge.\nLimited to 12 riders total.
