DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun day to learn about the sport of Working Equitation. We will discuss all four phases of the sport including as the building blocks.\nThe primary focus of the day will be spent reviewing the requirements for the obstacle portions of the sport – the Ease of Handling trial and the speed trial. We will walk through each obstacle and discuss what the judges are looking for and training ideas to help you get started in the sport. After all obstacles are reviewed we will have participants do an actual course walk where we will discuss strategy and how it differs between Ease of Handling and Speed.\nWorking Equitation is for everyone – all rider levels\, all breeds\, and all disciplines. All you need is the desire to learn and a little commitment. And don’t let speed phase scare you away – only Levels 2 and above are required to do speed.\nClinic is taught by Karen and Mike of KarMik Acres. Karen is an accredited Judge and Technical delegate. Both Karen and Mike hold multiple Year End Championships in Levels 1-5.\nCost for the clinic is only $50.\nSpace is limited so pre-registration is required. DESCRIPTION:This will be a Working Equitation competition\, licensed by USA Working Equitation. \nEntry Fee: $250 to participate. \nTack Stall: $100 \n(OHC Boarders who do not need stabling can request a $100 discount because they don’t need a stall) \nJust-for-fun Leadline modified Ease of Handling: $10 \nEntry fees include first bag of shavings\, and stabling from Friday\, 1 pm (honestly — NO EARLIER — if you arrive prior to 1 pm on Friday\, please plan to pay a ‘haul in fee’ to OHC and amuse yourself in the main facility rather than coming to the Prairie Arena). Additional bags of shavings can be purchased on site for $10/bag. \nPLEASE DO NOT BRING OUTSIDE SHAVINGS IN — we are charged an extra $35 per stall if any outside shavings are used. \nCamping is available on site — please make reservations directly with the Oregon Horse Center if you are planning to camp (we do not handle the camping spot reservations at all). \nJudge: Cari Schwartz\, R\, Oregon \nIMPORTANT NOTE:\nFull refunds if you are unable to attend due to a true medical emergency (COVID exposure\, sickness\, medically unsound to ride).
