DESCRIPTION:License #22-047 \nJudge: Kim Roe\, r\, Washington \nWe’ll run this event as a clinic combined with a licensed show. \nSchedule –\nFriday evening (starting at 6 pm): clinic\, focusing on dressage and learning the WE dressage tests.\nSaturday morning – either compete or ride a schooling ride – WE Dressage Test. Either way\, you will receive written feedback from our judge\, Kim Roe.\nSaturday afternoon/evening – focus on learning the obstacles. We will set obstcles up in the arena\, but they will not be the official course. We’ll have obstacles that will not be part of Sunday’s show\, and things will be set up in different places. \nSunday morning – everyone will help set the official course\, followed by a course walk with the judge — the judge will walk participants through expectations for each of the obstacles\, as well as answer questions. \nOnce the course walk is over\, we’ll run the Ease of Handling trial. Participants will either compete or ride a schooling ride. Either way\, you will receive written feedback from our judge\, Kim Roe. \nSunday afternoon – re-set the course for Speed and course walk\, focusing on learning how to set your horse up for success. Once the course walk is over\, we’ll run the Speed trial. Participants will either compete or ride a schooling ride. Because this event includes both a clinic and a show\, those who compete at the Intro level in the show are welcome to come back in to try out a Speed round as clinic participants. \nEntry Fee: $250 to participate in just the show; $350 to do the show and the clinic. \nTack Stall: $100 \n(OHC Boarders who do not need stabling can request a $100 discount because they don’t need a stall) \nEntry fees include first bag of shavings\, and stabling from Friday\, 1 pm (honestly — NO EARLIER — if you arrive prior to 1 pm on Friday\, please plan to pay a ‘haul in fee’ to OHC and amuse yourself in the main facility rather than coming to the Prairie Arena). Additional bags of shavings can be purchased on site for $10/bag. \nPLEASE DO NOT BRING OUTSIDE SHAVINGS IN — we are charged an extra $35 per stall if any outside shavings are used. \nCamping is available on site — please make reservations directly with the Oregon Horse Center if you are planning to camp (we do not handle the camping spot reservations at all). \nTo compete\, riders must be current members of USAWE\, and all horses must be recorded with USAWE. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun day to learn about the sport of Working Equitation. We will discuss all four phases of the sport including as the building blocks.\nThe primary focus of the day will be spent reviewing the requirements for the obstacle portions of the sport – the Ease of Handling trial and the speed trial. We will walk through each obstacle and discuss what the judges are looking for and training ideas to help you get started in the sport. After all obstacles are reviewed we will have participants do an actual course walk where we will discuss strategy and how it differs between Ease of Handling and Speed.\nWorking Equitation is for everyone – all rider levels\, all breeds\, and all disciplines. All you need is the desire to learn and a little commitment. And don’t let speed phase scare you away – only Levels 2 and above are required to do speed.\nClinic is taught by Karen and Mike of KarMik Acres. Karen is an accredited Judge and Technical delegate. Both Karen and Mike hold multiple Year End Championships in Levels 1-5.\nCost for the clinic is only $50.\nSpace is limited so pre-registration is required. SUMMARY:IL: Horseless Introduction to Working Equitation Clinic
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun day to learn about the sport of Working Equitation. We will discuss all four phases of the sport including as the building blocks.\nThe primary focus of the day will be spent reviewing the requirements for the obstacle portions of the sport – the Ease of Handling trial and the speed trial. We will walk through each obstacle and discuss what the judges are looking for and training ideas to help you get started in the sport. After all obstacles are reviewed we will have participants do an actual course walk where we will discuss strategy and how it differs between Ease of Handling and Speed.\nWorking Equitation is for everyone – all rider levels\, all breeds\, and all disciplines. All you need is the desire to learn and a little commitment. And don’t let speed phase scare you away – only Levels 2 and above are required to do speed.\nClinic is taught by Karen and Mike of KarMik Acres. Karen is an accredited Judge and Technical delegate. Both Karen and Mike hold multiple Year End Championships in Levels 1-5.\nCost for the clinic is only $50.\nSpace is limited so pre-registration is required. From that account\, you will be able to enter this show (and retrieve your scoresheets once you’ve been judged!). \nEntry Fee: $250 to participate. \nTack Stall: $100 \n(OHC Boarders who do not need stabling can request a $100 discount because they don’t need a stall) \nJust-for-fun Leadline modified Ease of Handling: $10 \nEntry fees include first bag of shavings\, and stabling from Friday\, 1 pm (honestly — NO EARLIER — if you arrive prior to 1 pm on Friday\, please plan to pay a ‘haul in fee’ to OHC and amuse yourself in the main facility rather than coming to the Prairie Arena).
