DESCRIPTION:We are excited to begin our season of Working Equitation events by having Emily Kemp \nreturn for a Working Equitation Schooling show! This two-day event is the perfect way to \nlearn what this fun new sport is all about and practice taking part in a show in a relaxed \ninstructional way. \nOn Saturday\, Emily will be offering private or small group lessons on which ever of the three \ntrials you wish to focus on. The Sunrise Ranch Ease of Handling course is designed \naccording to the official WE requirements and Emily Kemp will walk you through how to \naccomplish each obstacle with excellence. \nThe new SRR dressage arena has a spectacular view of the White River Valley. Here Emily \nwill walk you through the new 2022 WE Dressage pattern or coach you in how to tackle the \ncattle trial. Here at the Sunrise Ranch raises Scottish Highland cattle\, and working them \nfrom horseback is a skill we are enthusiastic to encourage through Working Equitation. \nOn Sunday you get to put all three phases together in the Schooling Show. Run like a \nlicensed show\, the schooling show offers you and your horse the chance to experience \ndoing each part\, Dressage\, Ease of Handling\, and Cattle Trial. You may even have a \n“caller” guide you through the order of the course to support your navigation. \nWe will be limiting entries to this schooling show so be sure to sign up early. This covers your stall\, your entry fee\, and lunch for one on each day you are signed up to participate. (meals will be available for purchase for family/friends as well). \nTack Stall: $100 \nJust-for-fun Leadline modified Ease of Handling: $10 \nEntry fees include stabling from Friday\, 3 pm through Sunday\, end of show. (honestly — NO EARLIER — if you arrive prior to 3 pm on Friday\, we need to make special arrangements to let you in\, and an additional charge might need to be added). \nA limited number of camping spots with electrical hookups are available on site for an additional charge of $30/day\, and there is plenty of room for “dry camping” without electricity. \nTo compete\, riders must be current members of USAWE\, and all horses must be recorded with USAWE. DESCRIPTION:License #22-048 \nWe’ll run this event as a clinic combined with a licensed show. \nLimited to a total of 30 riders. \nSchedule –\nFriday evening (starting at 6 pm): clinic\, focusing on dressage and learning the WE dressage tests.\nSaturday morning – either compete or ride a schooling ride – WE Dressage Test. Either way\, you will receive written feedback from our judge\, Erica Peet.\nSaturday afternoon/evening – focus on learning the obstacles. We will set obstcles up in the arena\, but they will not be the official course. We’ll have obstacles that will not be part of Sunday’s show\, and things will be set up in different places. \nSunday morning – everyone will help set the official course\, followed by a course walk with the judge — the judge will walk participants through expectations for each of the obstacles\, as well as answer questions. \nOnce the course walk is over\, we’ll run the Ease of Handling trial. Participants will either compete or ride a schooling ride. Either way\, you will receive written feedback from our judge\, Erica Peet. \nSunday afternoon – re-set the course for Speed and course walk\, focusing on learning how to set your horse up for success. Once the course walk is over\, we’ll run the Speed trial. Participants will either compete or ride a schooling ride. Because this event includes both a clinic and a show\, those who compete at the Intro level in the show are welcome to come back in to try out a Speed round as clinic participants. \nEntry Fee: $250 to participate in just the show; $350 to do the show and the clinic. \nTack Stall: $100 \n(OHC Boarders who do not need stabling can request a $100 discount because they don’t need a stall) \nJust-for-fun Leadline modified Ease of Handling: $10 (this will run during lunch and will not be judged) \nEntry fees include first bag of shavings\, and stabling from Friday\, 1 pm (honestly — NO EARLIER — if you arrive prior to 1 pm on Friday\, please plan to pay a ‘haul in fee’ to OHC and amuse yourself in the main facility rather than coming to the Prairie Arena). Additional bags of shavings can be purchased on site for $10/bag. \nPLEASE DO NOT BRING OUTSIDE SHAVINGS IN — we are charged an extra $35 per stall if any outside shavings are used. \nCamping is available on site — please make reservations directly with the Oregon Horse Center if you are planning to camp (we do not handle the camping spot reservations at all). \nTo compete\, riders must be current members of USAWE\, and all horses must be recorded with USAWE.
