If you are newer to WE\, Jody can help you understand how dressage fundamentals translate to riding obstacles in the Ease of Handling trial. If you’re already competing\, she can help fine tune your developed skills in an effort to increase your scores at your next show. Private lessons will be for a 30-minute duration\, a pair of teams will ride for an hour\, and three riders for 90 minutes. \nSunday – Show\nThe show will be conducted and judged in accordance with rules of USA Working Equitation\, with an allowance made for disqualifications. No rider will be disqualified for an error made on course but instead will be given a “zero” for that obstacle with an explanation provided of what was done to typically receive a DQ. Levels 1-4 will be offered and judged.

DESCRIPTION:Foothills Riding Club is hosting our inaugural Working Equitation Clinic and Schooling Show on the first weekend of April. We will have USAWE “S” Level\, Polly Limond\, with us all weekend. She is the clinician on Saturday and the judge on Sunday. On Saturday night\, we will have a complimentary pizza dinner with Polly for all clinic and show riders to get all the top tips for getting the best scores at the show on Sunday. \nThe clinic is open to all levels of riders and any breed of horse or mule. It will be divided into 1.5-hour sessions with groups of three similarly experienced riders. Ease of handling clinic on Saturday will be followed by dinner with the judge to review rules and tips\, hand out course maps for the Sunday show\, and Q&A. \nThe Sunday schooling show will offer all levels\, from Intro through Advanced. DESCRIPTION:Dia de Los Muertos Schooling Show \nBroken Bit Ranch is hosting their annual Dia de Los Muertos Working Equitation Schooling Show on October 28 & 29\, 2023. We are excited to have USAWE licensed judge Sarah Pinney\, “r”\, returning as our officiant for the 3rd year in a row! This show is for levels 1 thru 3\, with Champion buckles awarded to both Intro and combined Novice divisions. Dressage test will be held on Saturday with EOH & Speed classes on Sunday. There will also be an award for the “Best Dia de Los Muertos dressed”. During the event a food drive and a raffle is held to benefit our local food pantries of the Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon & Storey counties. Last year over 200# of canned and boxed food were collected and the raffle earned a tidy sum of $275 to help make the holidays a little brighter for those that might need a helping hand.  \n\nEntry fee for the show is $100. Show is limited to 36 riders. Limited stabling is available @ $45 for the weekend (3 nights). Dry camping is free.

She began Her horsemanship journey at the age of four with lessons\, progressing to her own horse at 10 with a ravenous hunger to learn all she could about horses. The joy of riding and feeling true partnership with her horses has always been a great motivator to learn more. Amy earned a Bachelors of Equine Science and traveled to Europe to train western equitation and reining in 1992. While in Europe she was introduced to the Lusitano horse and the Portuguese riding traditions\, it was very enlightening\, and it was her introduction to Working Equitation.\nAccomplishments:\n2009 – began several collaborations to develop the sport of working equitation in the USA\n2010 – IALHA National Reserve Champion Working Equitation Rider\n2011 – IALHA National Champion Working Equitation Rider\n2012 – 3 horses place in the top three\n2018 – Silver Medalist in Brazil at the International Invitational Working Equitation competition\, and her team won the Silver Medal in the team competition.\nAmy has found working equitation to be very challenging and rewarding as a horseman. She hopes to inspire equestrians to enjoy their own horsemanship journeys. Amy has been involved in all organizations throughout the development in the sport and still serves on the USAWE National Rules Committee and holds an “R” Judges Card and a Technical Delegate Card. Amy is an active WE competitor and currently is enjoying the challenge of advancing her perlino Lusitano Homen Brilhante into Level 7!

Here is your chance to work out any problems with a USAWE licensed judge Lidia Taylor.\nOn Saturday\, all riders will have a chance to ride both\, their Dressage tests and EOH courses in the Ride-Review-Ride format with the immediate judge’s feedback and targeted work on the most impactful corrections.\nAs always\, riders of all disciplines (both English and Western) and horses of all breeds (including gaited horses) are welcome.\nOn Sunday\, there will be a WE schooling show conducted by the USA Working Equitation Rulebook\, version 6.1. While full show attire is not required\, the riders should comply with minimum requirements (collared\, sleeved shirts and tack allowed by the rulebook). Horses should comply with the minimum age requirement for their level.\nYou may chose to enter the clinic only\, the show only\, or opt to ride in both.
