For the veterinary inspection\, please bring your horse as well as its valid health certificate and Coggin’s paperwork. You will present the horse in hand for the vet to inspect\, and will then walk away from the judge for approximately 150 feet\, then walk back to the judge\, then trot away from the judge and back to the judge. The veterinarian reserves the right to take temperatures and might request that you lunge the horse on a circle to confirm soundness. \nAWARDS CEREMONY – in show clothes\, with horses for photos\, please. Regional Championships are a BIG DEAL! \nAWARDS\nChampionship – neck sashes for overall placings\, Champion – 6th place in each level and division. \nA-Rated Show – rosettes 1st – 5th for overall placings in each level and division. \nLevels Offered:\nIntroductory – Masters \nDivisions Offered:\nJunior\, Amateur\, Open \nTwo “Best Turned-Out Horse/Rider” awards will be selected by the two judges: one for English and the other for Western riders. The winner of the English award will receive a beautiful Dressage-style English Show Pad. The winner of the Western award will receive a beautiful Western Show Pad. \nAdditional physical prizes (embroidered items\, prize baskets\, hand-crafted pottery\, etc.) are currently being identified and will be added to this description by September 1. \nEntry Fees – CHAMPIONSHIP Classes: $500 – Includes your stall (available from Friday – Monday\, same cost) and entry fee\nEntry Fees – Non-Championship Classes: $300 – Includes stall (available from Friday – Monday\, same cost) and entry fee\nIf you are sharing a horse with another rider\, you can deduct $100 from one of the horse’s entry fees (because the stall doesn’t need to be paid twice)\nExtra Stall(s): Available for $100\n(Discount of $50 for those driving 500 or more miles one way to attend. If you qualify for this discount\, please add info about where you’re driving from in the “comment” box at the end of the entry.) \nRV spots are available for $25 per night — you will arrange and pay for these directly through the Hoosier Horse Park. \nStalls must be fully cleaned out prior to your departure. HHP staff will be available on Friday-Sunday during office hours to take bedding orders in addition to pre-orders.  \nTo compete in a Regional Championship\, Horse/Rider pair must have earned an average of 58% or higher combined Dressage and EOH score\, without disqualifying in Speed (Novice A and above) at a USAWE licensed competition held in Region 5 in the 2019-2021 Competition Year(s). Qualifying score must have been earned at the level being entered. DESCRIPTION:License #22-047 \nJudge: Kim Roe\, r\, Washington \nWe’ll run this event as a clinic combined with a licensed show. \nSchedule –\nFriday evening (starting at 6 pm): clinic\, focusing on dressage and learning the WE dressage tests.\nSaturday morning – either compete or ride a schooling ride – WE Dressage Test. Either way\, you will receive written feedback from our judge\, Kim Roe.\nSaturday afternoon/evening – focus on learning the obstacles. We will set obstcles up in the arena\, but they will not be the official course. We’ll have obstacles that will not be part of Sunday’s show\, and things will be set up in different places. \nSunday morning – everyone will help set the official course\, followed by a course walk with the judge — the judge will walk participants through expectations for each of the obstacles\, as well as answer questions. \nOnce the course walk is over\, we’ll run the Ease of Handling trial. Participants will either compete or ride a schooling ride. Either way\, you will receive written feedback from our judge\, Kim Roe. \nSunday afternoon – re-set the course for Speed and course walk\, focusing on learning how to set your horse up for success. Once the course walk is over\, we’ll run the Speed trial. Participants will either compete or ride a schooling ride. Because this event includes both a clinic and a show\, those who compete at the Intro level in the show are welcome to come back in to try out a Speed round as clinic participants. \nEntry Fee: $250 to participate in just the show; $350 to do the show and the clinic. \nTack Stall: $100 \n(OHC Boarders who do not need stabling can request a $100 discount because they don’t need a stall) \nEntry fees include first bag of shavings\, and stabling from Friday\, 1 pm (honestly — NO EARLIER — if you arrive prior to 1 pm on Friday\, please plan to pay a ‘haul in fee’ to OHC and amuse yourself in the main facility rather than coming to the Prairie Arena). Additional bags of shavings can be purchased on site for $10/bag. \nPLEASE DO NOT BRING OUTSIDE SHAVINGS IN — we are charged an extra $35 per stall if any outside shavings are used. \nCamping is available on site — please make reservations directly with the Oregon Horse Center if you are planning to camp (we do not handle the camping spot reservations at all). \nTo compete\, riders must be current members of USAWE\, and all horses must be recorded with USAWE. If you are participating for schooling only\, this requirement is waived. \nIMPORTANT NOTE:\nFull refunds if you are unable to attend due to a true medical emergency (COVID exposure\, sickness\, medically unsound to ride).
