It is one of the favorite trials of many WE riders and we look forward to preparing you and your horse to work together as partners and as a team in sorting and moving cows as outlined for the WE sport. \nStarting unmounted we will act out a sorting on foot\, enabling us to focus on the position in relation to the cow\, the direction of focus for control\, effective support riders\, when to accelerate\, and being in the right place at the right time. SUMMARY:IA: Working Equitation Clinic with Lidia Taylor
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join us for a fun weekend of Working Equitation with Lidia Taylor! Working Equitation combines the correctness of Dressage with the Ease of Handling needed for obstacles and tested by speed. Riders and horses of any and all disciplines are welcome and encouraged to participate in the tack and clothing of their discipline. \nDay 1 will include discussion describing Working Equitation and the rules followed by 1.5hr small group lessons (3 riders max) working with obstacles included in Working Equitation tests. \nDay 2 will focus on Dressage lessons and walk through of the 2023 WE Tests. Format will depend on participants. \nOur clinician: Lidia Taylor has been teaching riding lessons for over 20 years focusing on rider bio-mechanics\, correct timing and application of the aids\, and extensive use of school figures and exercises to address training issues. She is certified by the American Riding Instructor’s Association as Level II Dressage\, Driving\, and Recreational Riding and Level III Western Dressage instructor. She is a proud graduate of the Western Dressage Association of America’s Train the Trainer program. She has worked with horses from Paso Finos to Percherons. Her Working Equitation journey began in 2016. The inclusivity of the sport was a huge attraction\, and its demanding nature from a training standpoint fit well with her own training and teaching. She promotes the sport by teaching Introduction to WE clinics as well as being a level “r” judge and Technical Delegate with USA Working Equitation. \nDetails: Red Tail Ranch has stalls available for those interested in hauling in for this clinic. \nHelmets are required for all riders. \nLunch will be provided each day. \n$250/rider includes a lesson each day. ($150 non-refundable deposit due Feb 25th) \n$25/day for auditors\, $35 for the weekend. \n$35/overnight stay in stalls (bedding provided) \nContact Leslie Cook for more information @ redtailranchdsm@gmail.com or text/call (515) 205-6465 \nLooking forward to sharing something new to the Des Moines area with all of you!
